Solme AB, the company behind AVIX, recently hosted a meeting for the ongoing Timebly 2 research project to review the current progress of the project and share updates from the different work packages.
During the meeting, Solme presented the latest developments in AVIX. The presentation included an overview of the AI functionality currently being tested and evaluated for future integration into AVIX, with a particular focus on a step-counting feature designed to support time studies and work analysis.
Participants then took part in a hands-on workshop where they manually counted steps in a video sequence. The results were later compared with the output from the AI-based step counter, creating an interesting discussion around accuracy and future possibilities for AI-supported analysis.
Timebly 2 is a research project that aims to improve and streamline process planning for manual assembly and other manual tasks. By leveraging AI and digital human models, the project explores how method descriptions and time determination can be improved and partly automated to support more efficient time data management in industrial environments.
Participants include BAE Systems, Saab Dynamics, Volvo Construction Equipment, IPS AB, MTM-föreningen, Chalmers University of Technology, University of Skövde, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Fraunhofer-Chalmers Centre, and RISE Research Institutes of Sweden.
