AVIX SMED

SMED software for changeover time reduction

Fast and efficient setup optimization

AVIX SMED is designed to make changeovers faster and more efficient. Based on the Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) principle, the software enables you to minimize setup time, reduce downtime, and increase overall productivity.

Think of an optimized setup as a Formula 1 pit stop – performed quickly, correctly, and with precision. With AVIX SMED, you can visualize, analyze, and continuously improve your setup processes step by step. The result is smoother transitions between products, reduced waste, and a more flexible production flow.

AVIX SMED gives you full control and clear visualization of every step in the setup process, making it easier to identify improvement areas and apply lean principles in practice. Whether you are analyzing a short or long setup, you gain complete insight into internal and external setup operations.

Intuitive Setup Analysis

AVIX SMED provides a highly intuitive and visual approach to SMED, requiring no special skills to get started. The software supports in-depth analysis of internal setup activities, helping you identify the most productive work methods. Built-in Standard Time settings allow you to simulate and compare proposed improvements to estimate potential productivity gains before implementation.

Internal and External Activities

By using video-based analysis, AVIX SMED ensures that no important details are missed. Even for long setups, it is easy to identify where improvements will have the biggest impact. The video also facilitates easy communication within your cross-functional teams.

Multiple Resources and Parallel Work

AVIX SMED allows you to manage and analyze multiple operators and machines simultaneously. The built-in logic makes it easy to handle tasks that start or end in sequence, or in parallel. This makes it simple to visualize time spent on specific activities, highlight inefficiencies, and identify opportunities to shorten setup time.

AVIX is something that connects us. It’s a common language that everyone understands. It doesn’t matter if you speak Spanish, English, Ukrainian, or Hungarian. With AVIX, we all see the same facts, the same numbers. There is no guessing, only real data.

Frequently asked questions

Can AVIX SMED handle complex setups involving multiple operators and machines?

Yes, AVIX SMED can handle very complex structures of machines and operators working at the same time. Once the setup has been documented and classified as internal or external, we visualize the full setup in a Gantt chart with operators and machines with the individual dependencies between the tasks. This way we can generate complete setup instructions for each individual operator, letting everyone know where to work, with what, how, and when in time.

Is AVIX SMED customizable to specific production processes?

Yes, AVIX SMED is really flexible when it comes to setting up the structure of machines and operators in various production processes. If there is a need, we can also customize the setup instructions to be printed on the template used by each individual company, or use the standard template included.
